El método isAlphabetic(intcodePoint) de la clase Character determina si el carácter especificado es un alfabeto o no.
Un carácter se considera alfabeto si reúne las siguientes características:
- LETRA MAYÚSCULA
- LETRA MINÚSCULA
- TÍTULO MAYÚSCULAS_LETTER
- MODIFICADOR_LETTER
- OTHER_LETTER
- LETTER_NUMBER o
- Otros alfabetos definidos por el estándar Unicode.

El método isAlphabetic(intcodePoint) devuelve verdadero si el carácter es un carácter del alfabeto Unicode. De lo contrario, este método devuelve falso.
